Formal requirement: prenatal medical care from at least the 10th week of pregnancy until childbirth (Art. 15b sec. 5).
Under Art. 15b sec. 2 of the Family Benefits Act, the one-time birth grant is granted if the family's net income per person does not exceed PLN 1,922.00. Note: becikowe does NOT have a tapering mechanism — exceeding the threshold by even PLN 1 results in complete forfeiture of entitlement.

Legal basis: Art. 15b of the Act of 28 November 2003 on Family Benefits (Dz.U. 2025 item 1208). Applications must be submitted within 12 months of birth.
- Becikowe is a one-time payment of PLN 1 000 for each child.
- It may be granted, among other conditions, when family income per person does not exceed PLN 1 922.
- The average monthly income of each family member from the calendar year before the benefit period is used; special rules apply when income is lost or gained.
- The woman must have been under medical care from no later than the 10th week of pregnancy until delivery; this requirement does not apply to legal or factual guardians or people who adopted the child.
- The application must be submitted within 12 months of the child's birth to the competent commune or city office for the applicant's place of residence; it can also be submitted electronically.

- No — they are independent benefits; you can receive both simultaneously.

- Yes. Either parent, a legal guardian or a factual guardian may apply. The prenatal care certificate refers to the mother — it must be included in the file even if the father submits the application.
