Housing Supplement
A benefit covering part of the costs of maintaining an apartment or single-family house.
Estimate your housing benefit
Enter household size, income, rent and dwelling area — we'll show the approximate support amount under the Housing Benefits Act. Enter net income (take-home), excluding any benefits received (e.g. 800+, allowances).
Income thresholds and area norms change every year. Leave your e-mail — we'll let you know when the rules are updated.
This is an estimate based on the Art. 6 formula of the Housing Benefits Act — not a decision. The final amount and entitlement are determined by the mayor or city president based on full income documentation. The calculator does not model all variants (e.g. heating lump sum, extra area for disability).
Granting Conditions
- Legal title to the premises (rent, ownership)
- Low income (e.g., 40% of average salary per person)
- Area of apartment not exceeding the norm by more than 30%

Is it worth it?
- How much can I receive?
- The amount depends on your rent, dwelling size and income — it can range from tens to several hundred PLN per month. The supplement cannot exceed 70% of your rent expenditure (80% for 6+ persons or disabled households).
- What is the income threshold?
- Income per person must not exceed 40% of the average monthly wage (single-person household) or 30% (2+ persons). From 10 February 2026 this is approximately PLN 3,561 and PLN 2,671 respectively (based on GUS Q3 2025 announcement) — verify current figures at your local office.
- What dwelling area qualifies?
- Normative area: 35 m² (1 person), 40 m² (2), 45 m² (3), 55 m² (4), 65 m² (5), 70 m² (6), +5 m² for each additional person. If your dwelling is larger, only the normative area is used in calculations.
- How long is the supplement granted for?
- For 6 months. After that period you may apply again — the office re-verifies your income and current rent.
- Is the supplement only for tenants?
- No. Eligible persons include: tenants and sub-tenants, holders of co-operative housing rights (ownership or tenancy), owners occupying their own dwelling, and in special cases persons without a formal title. A valid legal basis for occupancy is required.
