Who is entitled to the farmer's disability pension?

  • A farmer or household member permanently or temporarily fully unable to work on the farm
  • A person covered by pension insurance for the required period (from 1 to 5 years — depending on the age at which incapacity arose)
  • A person whose incapacity arose during insurance or no later than 18 months after it ended

Incapacity to work in KRUS means the loss of the ability to personally work on the farm — a different standard than a ZUS pension, which assesses incapacity for any work. Incapacity is assessed by a KRUS certifying physician. The calculator only signals a potential entitlement; KRUS sets the amount and duration in its decision. The guaranteed minimum is 1 978,49 zł per month (from 1 March 2026).

How much is the farmer's disability pension?

How long do you need to be insured in KRUS to receive the pension?
From 1 year (if incapacity arose before age 20) to 5 years (if it arose after age 30). Incapacity must arise during insurance or within 18 months of it ending.
