Who qualifies for a periodic benefit?
- Unemployed persons meeting the OPS income threshold
- Persons with long-term illness or disability
- Persons unable to work for other reasons
- Single parents in difficult financial circumstances
Income threshold: PLN 1,010 per single person, PLN 823 per family member (2026). Benefit equals at least 50% of the gap between threshold and actual income.
How to apply?
Social Welfare Centre (OPS)
Submit the application to OPS for your place of residence. A social worker will conduct a home interview.
Required documents
Income certificates, disability certificate (if applicable), documents confirming family situation.

- How long can I receive the periodic benefit?
- OPS grants the benefit for a fixed period — until the cause ceases (e.g. finding employment) or for the duration of an activation programme.
- Can the periodic benefit be combined with other benefits?
- Yes — it can be combined with the permanent benefit, in-kind assistance and vocational activation programmes.
- What is the minimum amount?
- At least 50% of the difference between the income threshold and actual income. The municipality may set a higher percentage.
